The Wood Energy Group (TWEG)

Here is a great resource for all those interested in bioenergy and Australia!

The Wood Energy Group (TWEG) writes "Australia has enough available biomass of all types to provide a significant fraction of our energy (electricity, heat and fuels) within the short to medium timeframe of ten years. Bioenergy already is equal to hydro and second only to wind in the amount of electricity it produces, and it is the leading renewable energy source (ahead of hydro and wind) when heat, electricity and biofuels are considered. However, bioenergy to date does not receive the same formal recognition and policy support at state and federal levels that presently exists for wind, solar and geothermal energy. TWEG will strive to provide useful and accurate information to correct this inbalance, and to provide links to other sources of accurate information on bioenergy and biofuels, recycling and energy efficiency. The TWEG will post newsletters of the World Bioenergy Association (WBA) and is a full member of the WBA."
